One Vehicle Accident in Bensalem leaves Driver Hospitalized and SEPTA Bus Stop Destroyed

A one vehicle wreck on Street Road in Bensalem left the car and a bus stop destroyed, with the driver hospitalized.

The accident occurred Sunday at the corner of Street Road and Tillman Drive, fire officials said, when the vehicle went airborne slamming into a SEPTA bus stop coming to rest to between a tree and PECO power line pole.

The driver was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for medical treatment. No information is available on the seriousness of the drivers condition as of Tuesday morning.

The east bound lane of Street road was detoured for about an hour while police investigated, said officials at the scene.

A cause of the accident had yet to be determined by investigators as of publication time.

“Thankfully no one was waiting for the bus!” said the responding fire crew, Nottingham Fire Department- station 65.
