A Levittown man was arrested and jailed earlier this month on several sex offense felony counts as he tried to have sex with a 13 year-old girl, according to Bensalem Police.
On May 1, 2025, Ali Memis began conversing online with a young female whom he suspected to be 13 years of age on a social media app. Over the next week, the conversation with the 13-year-old progressed quickly to become sexual. He sent messages about his desire to perform various sexual acts on the child and that he wanted to meet in person. He repeatedly told the child to delete her text messages and photos and asked if her mother could track her phone, Bensalem Police said in a press release.
Memis, according to court documents, arranged to meet the 13-year-old at her apartment in Bensalem for a sexual encounter when her mother wasn’t home.
On Thursday, May 8th, Memis left his workplace in New Jersey and drove to the child’s apartment complex for the sexual encounter. When Memis exited his vehicle to enter the apartment building, police were waiting and arrested him without incident, police said.
No child was ever in danger during this investigation, Bensalem authorities said.
Memis is charged with attempted four felony counts of indecent assault, attempted statutory sexual assault, and related offenses. He was arraigned by District Justice Terry Hughes and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $900,000 bail.
Memis is due in court on July 2 to answer to the charges.
