Folks love to support their police departments. So much so that, like in other municipalities, they’ll support police related fundraising efforts at the state and national level, never considering scammers and fraudsters are fully aware of how to manipulate that deep feeling a community will often have for law enforcement.
Scammers targeting Bensalem, perhaps hit their mark almost grifting funds through the mail from one resident, except this resident was so motivated by the mailer received they went to Police Headquarters to drop off the funds and thus exposing the con, police say.
“Today, a Bensalem resident came to the police department to deliver a donation to the “National Police Association,” said police officials.
“This mailing is fraudulent. Do not reply or send any information via mail if you have received one of these mailings.”
