Updated: Robbery-Assault Suspect Taken into Custody by New Brunswick Police

A man wanted by Bensalem Police was arrested and taken into custody Monday authorities announced.

New Brunswick Police captured Tyrick Miranda, 40 of New Brunswick yesterday on the arrest warrant issued by Bensalem Police on October 11, officials said.

Miranda is accused of assaulting and robbing a 70 year-old man on October 1.

Police said Miranda’s extradition is pending. The original story is below.

Bensalem Police on Thursday filed an arrest warrant for a New Jersey man they say attacked and robbed a 70 year-old man, hoping  the public can help with locating him.

According to police, Tyrick Miranda, 40 of New Brunswick, NJ punched in the face, fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious.  The suspect then went through the victim’s pockets, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and kicked the victim in the face two times before fleeing the area.

The victim was then hospitalized for the injuries sustained in the assault, a press release says. 

“The brazen robbery and assault” occurred on October 1, according to online court records.

He is being charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of robbery and a related misdemeanor offense.
