A veteran Croydon off-duty volunteer firefighter passed away early Monday morning, two sources confirmed this morning.
The publication is, for now, withholding the first responders name out of respect for his family and friends.
A first responder source said, fire and EMS crews were dispatched just after 2:30 am to the State Road and Summit Avenue for a reported “cardiac arrest.” The firefighter was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Source said early Monday the firefighter has lots of relatives who also volunteer for the Croydon Fire Company.
“They are probably taking this real hard” the source said.
A request for comment from Croydon Fire officials was not immediately returned Monday morning.
Our deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the family, friends, and first responder community for their loss.
As of 8:25 am there was no official announcements posted by on social media by the fire company.
