“Arriving firefighters had difficulty accessing a bedroom on the third floor because of the amount of materials in the room partially blocking the door opening” he said.

Firefighters were seen entering the home from a ladders placed in the backyard to make entry on to the third floor,

“The fire was confined to a mattress in the third-floor bedroom” Slack said

Borough Code officials deemed the home to be uninhabitable. No injuries were reported, public safety officials said.

Cause of the fire is under investigation, Slack said.
