In the coming weeks three new part-time  police officers will be patrolling Bristol Borough

Bristol Borough Council approved the hiring of the three new part time officers earlier this week.

Ashley Beck, Devon Gonzalez and Matthew Sozio were hired per the recommendation of Officer In Charge Sgt. Joe Moors.  The hiring’s are pending the passing of required tests.

The police department’s part time ranks have been “decimated” recently by an exodus from the part time ranks who were hired by other municipalities for full time police positions.

Beck, will be the first woman officer hired by the department in a number of years.

A borough official said hopes are for the trio of new officers to be presented at the February council meeting for introductory purposes to resident and officials.
