The search for a new Bristol Borough Chief of Police will go into its second phase, as officials will be meeting Thursday night to review applications.
Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe said officials will be reviewing applications for the chiefs position Thursday in a executive meeting.
We’re gonna meet and narrow down the applicant list , he said so we can start the interviewing process hopefully in a couple of weeks, said DiGuiseppe
Borough officials in December said they had received about 24 resumes after the job was posted.
Moors, was officially acknowledged as a candidate for the position by borough officials but has declined to comment on the the hiring process. He remains focused on providing leadership for the department while the position remains open.

In a related council item, the borough approved a new contract with the police departments taser provider, Axon Enterprises, Inc.
The five year contract was set to expire and the end of month and axon officials reached out to Moors to remind him the deal was set to end very soon. If the contract has expired without a new one in place, issues such warranties and insurance would have lapsed exposing the borough to possible liability.
Moors said he was able to negotiate a new deal with Axon, in which the department could trade its 18 older tasers for new ones. Also included in the new deal are docking stations, training manuals and Detective William Davis will be trained to be an instructor so he can certify borough officers for taser use.
Delivery of the new tasers is expected in April or May, and that’s due to supply chain issues, Moors said.
Mayor Joe Saxton said the renegotiated deal is real important especially with what would have been a gap in the insurance and warranties on the police safety devices.
Costs of the new deal breakdown this way: Year 1- $4900.00 Years two thru five cost is $10,567.00 for a total cost of just under $50 K.
Moors after being complimented for his work on getting the new taser deal, said you know I love this town so its an honor to serve.
