Bristol Borough officials declared a disaster emergency Tuesday due to the impacts on Monday nights historic rain and flooding.
The declaration cites the flash flood emergency as causing injury, damage and suffering for borough residents and businesses. which will empower victims to apply for state and federal funding.
The Borough Emergency Management Coordinator will now head the boroughs crisis response as dozens of homes were flooded with up to six feet of water in some cases and homes condemned by code enforcement.
Sources told Lower Bucks Source officials from FEMA will be touring damaged areas of Bristol with local authorities to assess the areas needs and resources required for recovery from the damage the storm caused.
On Tuesday Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said there were no major injuries reported while fire companies responded to a litany of calls,
Slack said he didn’t know the exact number of calls borough fire companies responded too Monday night.
Residents throughout the day wondered aloud if a disaster emergency would be invoked as many have said their homes suffered serious damage in there homes.

do you know who we contact in the borough to report any damages? we had a foot of water in our basement and i know they will need to collect all the info they can.
