Bristol Borough Firefighters Clear the Air after Oil Burner Malfunction

Bristol Borough firefighters were called out early Saturday for oil burner malfunction Fire Chief Herb Slack said that caused a smoke condition requiring the ventilation of two homes on Washington Street.

Fire crews were dispatched to 221 Washington Street at 12:33 a.m for a possible dwelling fire.

Companies arriving on location found that the oil burner had malfunctioned causing a smoke condition in the basement and the adjacent dwelling, Slack said.

The oil burner was secured,  dwellings ventilated, and checked for carbon monoxide levels, the chief said.
Upon completion, companies returned to their stations.
