Bristol man charged with Attempted Robbery and Harassment



A Bristol Borough man has been charged with attempted robbery, harassment, and related offenses for an incident that took place Thursday afternoon at the Wawa on Green Lance.
According to a police press release, authorities were called to Wawa at 1 p.m for a report of a woman being harassed at the Farragut Avenue store.
Upon arrival, a woman victim told police she was being accosted while in the store by a male, later to be identified as Christian Samuel Gil Aponte, 21 of Bristol Township, police said.
The victim told police, she had dropped her cell phone and Aponte would not return it. After a struggle, police said, the victim was able to get her phone back, however, Aponte, blocked her from getting back into her vehicle.
Police said they apprehended a male matching Aponte’s description on the canal path off of Green Ln, . A Subsequent investigation confirmed the suspect located, was in fact Aponte.
Aponte was arraigned by Justice Frank W. Peranteau Sr, at 5 p.m. Thursday, setting bail at 10 percent of $50,000 and was unable to post bond. Aponte is tentatively scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on June 2.
He now awaits his hearing date in Bucks County Correctional Facility.
