For the second time in as many days, a local man told police he wanted to die by cop and now he is facing misdemeanor charges.
According to court papers, Bristol Borough Police were called the Boro Pub on Farragut Avenue, Sunday evening for a report of a domestic incident taking place between a man and woman.
The man later identified as Gabriel Plunto, 40 of Bristol, was reported to be throwing things and behaving “out of control” by Bar Staff to police.
Officers Webb and Dragon approached the man, who they said was very big, observing what appeared to be someone under the influence of alcohol and extremely upset and agitated, police said.
The man later was identified as Gabriel Plunto, 40 of Bristol.
Both officers tried to calm the troubled man down, police wrote in court documents, however he became more upset towards the officers telling them he wanted to “die by suicide by cop.”
Plunto then moved towards officer Dragon and said “what’s up chubby” walking towards him, putting his fists up and trying to engage him in a fight. Officer Webb then tasered the suspect in the back, and he was subsequently handcuffed and taken into custody.
Plunto was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and a summary offense for public drunkenness.
He is tentatively scheduled to answer to the charges in Bristol Borough District Court on June 16.
Pluto was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital for mental health evaluation, according to multiple sources who asked to remain anonymous.
