Vehicle Explodes into Flames, One Man in Police Custody

A vehicle exploded into flames on Rt 13 in Bristol Borough Sunday afternoon with police taking one man into custody and traffic left at a standstill for about 45 minutes.

Details are scarce as to what caused the orange Dodge Charger to burst into flames around 12:30 pm on Bristol Pike in between Veterans Highway and Bath Street.

Bristol area first responders doused the flames from the backend of the vehicle, which appears to have suffered damages from striking some other vehicle or object. Those defects were identified to be on the passenger side front end.

Images from the accident show vehicle parts scattered on both sides of the roadway.

As of 3:30 pm no arrests were lpgged for arraignment, according to online county court records.

Bristol Borough Police declined to comment as of publication of this story.
