Charges Held Over in Toddler Stabbing by Croydon Man

Eric Scott Credit: Bristol Borough Police Department

A Bristol Township man accused of stabbing a child in the leg and and assaulting his girlfriend was scheduled to appear in Bristol Borough District Court for a preliminary hearing, was instead jailed and charged in two additional unrelated cases by township authorities.

Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr sent Eric Scott Jr, 27, to Bucks County Correctional Facility after his hearing last week in lieu of 10 percent of $50,000 bail. Additionally Peranteau  ruled  there was enough evidence to sustain charges of aggravated assault and several misdemeanors at hearing held on February

The original incident, which occurred November 13 in Bristol Borough, was filed by Borough Police.

During a early morning ride from Morrisville to Bristol, Scott is alleged to have pulled out his pocket knife, leaned over to his significant other and said he was going to stab her, the criminal complaint alleges. Scott is also alleged to have struck his girlfriend in the head during the incident.

While investigating the incident, police arranged to have family members come and pick up the children who were in the vehicle during the incident.  Late that morning, Bristol Township Police were called when it was discovered the toddler victim had three puncture wounds and a scratch on her upper left thigh, according to police.

Authorities contacted Childline  and Bucks County Children & Youth to report the toddlers injuries for investigative purposes while she was receiving medical attention,  according to the criminal complaint.

Scott will be formally arraigned in Bucks County Court of Common Pleas on March 4.

In unrelated matters, Scott was also arraigned in two other cases in which charges are drug related misdemeanors  and filed in Bristol Borough District Court by Township Police. Judge Peranteau set bail at 10 percent of $20,000 for each and Scott was scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings on March 9.

Editors Note: Mr Scott in communications with LBS, has threatened to sue publication in its coverage of his case.
