Cops: 12 -Year Old Accidentally Shoots Self, Investigation Continues

Bristol Borough Police say a 12- year-old resident accidentally shot herself while handling a loaded hand gun she believed was unloaded.

Police say they responded to Lower Bucks Hospital Tuesday afternoon, who arrived at the medical facility for a gun shot wound to the hand.

The incident occurred on Lincoln avenue. Police did say what time the incident occurred.

The young girl was transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children (CHOP) for additional treatment.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.

Borough Police urge firearm owners to be vigilant with the securing of weapons, especially when children are present. The Bristol Borough Police take part in

which is a program that provides free gun locks. Gun locks can be picked up at Bristol Borough Police Headquarters during normal business hours.
