A little boy screaming “Mommy,” a half emptied bottle of Vodka, and being located by police passed out in the front seat of a vehicle, led Bristol Borough Police to charge a local woman with child endangerment and driving under the influence.

Bristol Borough Police say, Cassandra Tolle, 31, was found slumped over the front wheel of her silver Chrysler in October, passed out with a minor in the car.

Borough police were dispatched to the intersection of Mill and Pond Streets for a wellness check  a little past 7 p.m.  on October 29, 2019 for the report of  a woman sitting on the corner, then laying down on the ground, with a child standing next to her yelling ‘Mommy,’ court records show.

When police arrived on scene, the woman and child had left the area but authorities say in court records, a concerned citizen provided them with a description of the vehicle, said to be a silver Chrysler.

Police located the vehicle in the Wharf parking lot with the engine running but not parked, police wrote in court documents, with Tolle “passed out” in the drivers seat.

Police awakened the Bristol woman, who police say, smelled like alcohol, had “slurred speech” and spoke incoherently. When asked by police, if she knew where she was, Tolle told police “no,” court records show.

Police assisted the suspect from the vehicle and then observed a half emptied bottle of vodka on the front passenger seat and the little boy, who was screaming “Mommy” which led to a concerned citizen call, in the back seat of the vehicle physically unharmed but visibly shaken police say in court records.

Toll was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and taken to Lower Bucks Hospital for a Blood Alcohol test, which she refused, police say.

Tolle is charged with child endangerment, and driving under the influence first offense, via mail summons.

She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 4.
