A would-be thief hit Burger King in Bristol Borough taking off with a donation box Thursday evening then fled the area on foot sources told Lower Bucks Source last night.

Bristol Borough and Bristol Township Police officers were at the fast food restaurant around the 5:30-6:30 p.m. hour speaking to employee-victims about the incident.

According to multiple public safety sources the suspect grabbed the donation box and ran across Rt. 13 onto Beaver Dam Road.

A Burger King employee chased him, sources  said, and the suspect allegedly stopped and pointed a gun at the employee.

Attempts to reach Bristol Borough Chief of Police Joe Moors were unsuccessful Thursday night seeking comment on the reported theft.

Neither Bristol Borough/Township filed charges against a suspect for theft/robbery related offenses as of Friday night.
