Father Charged With Endangering His Son While Fleeing from Police

A Bristol Township motorist driving at high speeds on Rt 13 in Bristol just after lunch hour on Monday has been charged with serious offenses after refusing to stop for police while he had his 15-year-old son in the car. 

Bristol Borough Police were on a aggressive driving detail and at 12:24 p.m., Monday, July 29  when an  officer observed a black Chrysler 300  traveling at a high rate of speed from Corson Street headed to Beaver Street on Rt 13. Borough Police clocked the vehicle at 93 mph in a posted 40 mph speed zone. As Borough Police followed the driver, the officer observed the motorist driving erratically by changing lanes and weaving around other vehicles. Traffic was stopped at  the Beaver St. traffic light and when the light turned green, the responding officer activated his overhead lights and siren, police said.

The black Chrysler then continued on Route 13 at a high rate of speed, abruptly made a U-Turn at the Green Lane intersection and fled southbound on Route 13 with Bristol Township Police in pursuit. Later, the vehicle was found unoccupied at the Levittown Trace apartments on Ford Road. Township Police were advised by radio dispatch as to the possible apartment number. The said apartment was searched and found empty. At 2 p.m., the motorist turned himself in to the police and told them the passenger was his 15-year-old son, shown in the affidavit.   

The motorist later identified as Jonnovan Woods-Horton, 30 of Bristol was charged with two felonies, fleeing or attempting to elude police and child endangerment  He was unable to post 10% of $30,000 and was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF). His next court date is scheduled for August 7 at the Bristol Borough Courthouse. He currently does not have an attorney on record, according to court records.
