Fishing with a Cop Reels in September Date

The Bristol Borough Police Benevolent Association (BBPBA) announced details for this years “Fishing with a Cop” scheduled for next month at the Delaware Canal Lagoon on Jefferson Avenue.

PBA President, and “acting’ Sergeant Chuck Palmer went before Council last week to receive their support for the event, which he received enthusiastically.

September 7  from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Palmer said, is the date of the event and a rain date (Sept 8) has been added this year because of rain at last year’s event.

“We’ve gotten a lot of donations this year from locals, out of towners and businesses this year,” Palmer said.

Applications are available now at the Bristol Borough Police Department, 250 Pond Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with a deadline of August 24 to apply.

Face painting, a D.J., and the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office Dept with its K-9 unit will be on hand.

Fishing gear for children is free and this is a 12 and under event for kids living in Bristol Borough.
