A Morrisville man with felony conviction under his belt was arrested and charged earlier this week for threatening a Bristol Township woman with a gun in the driveway of her home.
According to the probable cause, on November 30 at around 11:10 p.m., Bucks County Radio Dispatch (BCRD) reported a male, later identified as Michael Ratti, 24 of Morrisville, pointed a firearm at a woman in her driveway. Dispatch also relayed the vehicle Ratti was operating was a gold in color Ford with Pennsylvania tags. Responding officers checked the License Plate Reader system and the vehicle went through a reader at the intersection of Bristol Pike and Veterans Highway at 2310 hours, which put the vehicle in the area of Dorset Avenue at the time of the incident. Police searched for additional vehicle information, through NCIC, coming up with no results.
Upon arrival, another Bristol Twp Police officer was speaking to the victim about the alleged incident involving Ratti. She said he was in her driveway and he pointed a firearm at her. She described the firearm as a black in color with a a long barrel. While the first officer was taking the victim’s statement, the second officer asked to have her husband come out and speak about the incident. The victim’s husband said he saw Ratti with a gun but did not see if he pointed it at her.
The officer asked dispatch if Ratti had a license to carry, the radio room said he did not. While the officer was in his patrol unit, the first responding officer said she did not want to provide a written statement because she was worried about retaliation. That officer asked the victim to describe the gun Riatti pointed at her and what he allegedly did which she said he grabbed the firearm and pointed it at her direction.
Ratti in 2020 pled guilty to felony drug distribution. Individuals with felony convictions can not own firearms in the Commonwealth.
He was taken into custody on December 2, arraigned by on-call District Judge Michael W. Gallagher on charges of attempted aggravated assault, carrying a gun without a license, and possession of a instrument of crime with intent. He was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility as he was unable to post the 10 percent of $75,000.00 required. Ratti is scheduled to appear in court on January 8, 2025 to answer to the charges.
There was no motive and/or reason identified in court records, at this time, for the alleged incident.
