Police Officer Spots Croydon Fire, Deemed Arson by Authorities

A Bristol Township Police officer on patrol in Croydon early Friday morning spotted a van engulfed in flames on Cedar Avenue and now police are investigating it as arson authorities say.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 700 block of Cedar Avenue around 5 a.m. this morning after the township police officer alerted the five residents who escaped the blaze unharmed, fire officials said.

One cat died in the fire, according to fire authorities.

The home and van were heavily damaged by the blaze, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said, but the home owners hold an insurance policy.

 

 

 

 

One firefighter was transported to the hospital for observation and has been released Dippolito said

Bristol Township Police Detectives are now handling the case, the fire marshal said
