After Bristol area first responders spent hours dealing with the impacts of a three-alarm fire Tuesday morning, there was a dramatic accident on Rt 13 and 5th Avenue around 5 pm.

A black pickup truck with an extended cab suffered front end damage and reportedly hit two additional vehicles on the 1000 block Tuesday evening due to a mechanical issue, sources said.

The driver of the pickup truck “walked away without a scratch” witnesses said.

A woman identifying herself as the driver’s girlfriend said the “brakes failed” on the pickup.

Bristol Borough Police shut down Rt 13 from Bath St to Beaver St while investigators surveyed the scene.

Bristol Borough authorities did not respond to requests for information about the accident.

No other information was available as of publication time.
