The family of a Bristol a firefighter killed in a hit-and-run Tuesday has started a Go Fund Me effort to pay for funeral services and costs as community mourns his loss.
The fundraiser post created by family members Jessica Torres and Lisa Santiago thanks the community for its support as the effort seeks to raise $10,000 to funeral services and costs.
“Up until his unfortunate passing he served his community proudly. He was loved and will be missed very much by many,” the two wrote.
Santiago was riding his bicycle on Route 13 between Beaver Dam Road and Green Lane when he was struck from behind police say, by an unknown vehicle in Bristol Township.
Investigators as of Thursday morning have decline to comment about the status of the investigation.
Meanwhile on Wednesday, Bristol Borough based fire companies shared their thoughts about their loss on social media.

Santiago and Torres in the midst of their own grief reminded the public “… how short life really is” And to “take a minute to take a photo, answer that call/text or just a simple hug to tell them you love them because you never know when it will be your last.”
