A 44-year-old Levittown man fixated on a 15-year-old girl defied a judicial order and was jailed last week for violating the order and charged with felony counts of (2) witness intimidation, interference with custody of children, stalking and related offenses.

District Court Judge David J. Chichilitti preliminarily arraigned Claude T. Bailey on Tuesday April 7 on the new set of charges. He set bail at 10 percent of $500,000.00. According to Bristol Borough Police, Bailey violated a “no contact” order issued by Chichilitti subsequent to Bailey’s arrest in March 5 on similar charges.

Bailey was, according to police, a ‘family friend’ whose increased attention concerned the teenage girl’s parents. He suggested in a conversation last October that when the girl turned 18 he could marry her. Bailey was told by the girl’s father to leave his home and never come back.

He returned to the Bristol home of the family involved on numerous occasions, even after police warned him to stay away or he would be arrested, according to court records last October and November. Bailey, even after the warnings, made the unusual move of dropping off an envelope containing $10,000.00 at the girl’s home so she could purchase a vehicle for herself when she turned 18.

The envelope read, according to police, “…This is for your vehicle. Put it in the bank until you use it. I wish you and your always” ….. “with love, Uncle Duke.”

There were at least three more incidents in which Bailey made contact with the family in November, as his unusual behavior continued to escalate despite the threat of arrest looming. At one point, according to court records, telling the teen girl’s father she is the only one who can bring him a “happy family.”

“Trust me and I’ll start taking care of her from now until t die…,” Bailey allegedly texted.

Borough police filed an arrest warrant for Bailey in early February. He was arrested and charged on March 5 with a no contact order put in place..

Case # 2

On April 6 at around 4:45 p.m. Bailey, according to court records, defied the court’s no contact order. He showed up at the Bristol Borough home of the underaged girl he’s fixated on and wants to marry.

Bailey, according to the family, walked into the residence through an unsecured front door. He swung the door open while the daughter sat at a table with the family dog. He entered screaming, “I know it’s not true, I know it’s not true.”

The mother told Bailey, “To please get out of the house.”

The daughter left to find her father.

Bailey exited the residence yelling to the father, “I know your not gonna testify against me.” “I know it’s not true.” Bailey was seen driving away in a white Subaru.

The mother showed the police two books found on the front steps placed and allegedly left by Bailey.

The books were titled, “My First Touch and Explore A TO Z,” a book for toddlers and up  which  “…photographic board book that includes a variety of textures and interactive elements to explore. Learning ABCs, ” according to it online description;  and “I spy, A to Z”. , a second book  designed to help kids learn letters and sounds through engaging, “unplugged” picture puzzles that encourage observation and pattern recognition.

Police photographed and placed the books into evidence.

Bailey is due back in court on April 15 for preliminary hearings in both cases. He has no attorney of record at the present time, according to online court records.
