Bristolians with homes and businesses  that were damaged in the flash flood are wondering when is the help coming and where do you go for help?

Well there is a simple straight forward answer a Bristol official says; call the municipal building, report the flood damaged your home or business, and an appointment will be made for officials to come out and investigate inspector John Miller said Friday.

“We’re here to help but you have to call us” he said, explaining how the process will work for residents to receive help from state and federal funding.

Borough officials declared a disaster emergency Tuesday morning, as part of the process for victims to become eligible for help.

Miller said, one more home in the borough, on Cedar Street,  was condemned earlier this week, bringing the total to six, damaged by the flash flood.

On Thursday, the cleanup process began for the homes on Pond Street condemned late Monday night.

Chick’s Plumbing was pumping out the remaining water from the basement of 420 Pond Street, which is where the foundation started to give way, leaving a gaping hole in the side of the dwelling.

Miller said the next step is for engineers to come out and check on the electrical lines before moving forward with any restoration work.

“Its a process” he said, but again that’s what we’re here for”

You cab call the borough hall and report damages from the storm at this number 215-788-3828.

To reach Miller, ask for extension 19.
