Roadway Repairs On I 295 in Middletown; Three Additional Work Projects About to Start Could Slow Down Morning Commute

PennDOT announced travel restrictions in the Lower Bucks County area that could very well slow down the morning commute in for motorists.

The traffic and roadway agency made one last announcement Friday afternoon as concrete roadway repairs will take place at night beginning on September 30   on Interstate 295 in Middletown Twp.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, September 30, through Wednesday, October 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on westbound I-295 approaching U.S. 1.
  • Wednesday, October 2, through Friday, October 4, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound I-295 approaching U.S. 1.

In addition Lower Bucks area motorists will face travel changes and restrictions in the area for this week and beyond that were announced by PennDOT officials last week also.

  1. Resurfacing operations in Bensalem and Bristol Townships’ began earlier Sunday morning on Rt 13 and Street Road.   
  2. On River Road in Lower and Upper Makefield begins Monday morning for paving operations which will continue the following week in Yardley and Lower Makefield 
  3. Newportville Road in Bensalem and Bristol to be closed beginning Oct 14

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
