A Philadelphia man screwed around and found out as they say recently, discovering not only can Bucks County Rangers arrest you, they can also have you sent to jail.

David Reinhardt, told County Rangers they didn’t have the authority to arrest him last year pled guilty in November to one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, two misdemeanor counts of drug related offenses, and one motor vehicle summary offense.

According to the criminal complaint two county rangers conducted a vehicle investigation of a blue Ford truck on the 600 block 2nd Avenue.Police said the suspect  was observed to have glassy blood shot eyes and told the Park Rangers his name was “David Smith,” in March of 2022.

The Rangers contacted Buck County Police radio to check state records which  revealed there was no one by that name found registered to the vehicle.

Reinhardt was advised by the rangers, they were conducting an official inquiry and not to lie. While advising the suspect,  one of the two rangers observed a glass pipe with white residue suspected to be a methamphetamine pipe.

Rangers later testified at a preliminary hearing, Reinhardt was in possession of methamphetamine  and heroin.

Judge Gary Gilman sentenced Reinhardt to a maximum of 23 months in Bucks County Correctional Facility, in which he was credited for just under six months time served.  He released on presumptive parole with drug and alcohol treatment and fines, costs conditions attached to his sentence.
