Bristol Borough authorities are investigating a threat of high school students by another student in which a “target list”was devised.

Interim Superintendent Dr Thomas Shaffer posted a statement about the threat to the school districts website Thursday.

“The Administration was made aware through a Safe-to-Say tip that a student in Bristol High School had a list of students he was planning to target. The list mentioned first names only. The student was immediately questioned and has been apprehended by the Bristol Borough Police Department. Safety is our first priority and we believe the immediate response ensured the safety of all students.”

The Safe- to-Say app has been instrumental in reporting potential threats of students and staff in the past.

Bristol Borough Officer in Charge, Sgt Joe Moors confirmed the “ongoing active investigation” when Lower Bucks Source inquired about the reported threat, Sunday.

Moors, however, declined to provide specifics about the investigation to the publication.

In December, three school district students were charged for making threats.  Two of the incidents involved students at high school

.As part of a proactive policing effort, Borough officers have been making regular visits to the district schools since December subsequent to those threat reports.

One Bristol student was expelled from the high school at last months board meeting, however school district officials declined to say if the student expelled was one of the two charged for making threats in December.

‘I’m sorry, because of legal issues, I am not able to respond to the question regarding the expulsion,” Shaffer said.
