A Bristol Borough School District security officer has been suspended pending further investigation, Lower Bucks Source confirmed Saturday night.
The suspension went into effect Friday pending further investigation, multiple sources said which included a public safety source.
Reports of the reported investigation and suspension of Jim Denny who has worked as a security officer at Bristol High School on Wilson Avenue, began to come in Friday
The reports cited inappropriate text message exchanges between Denny and high school student (s). The exact nature of the text messages, according to sources, were not sexually explicit however they concerned school officials went brought to their attention.
Alleged screenshots of text messages between Denny and student (s) he was in contact with, show an ongoing relationship that could be characterized as inappropriate due to the age differences and general boundaries between students and administration.
One parent said boundaries need to be maintained with students, not exploited for personal-emotional gain and or reasons.
“In this instance, he is the official and thus exploiting the situation it seems,” said one of the parents tipping Lower Bucks Source off.
Denny was escorted off the high school grounds without incident Friday afternoon after he was officially suspended, a concerned citizen told this publication.
Denny who worked at the high school for a number of years as a maintenance person was moved to assist with security and work alongside Police Department officials in 2022. The school district was provided federal funding to bring on Ashley Beck as a full-time School Resource Officer at Snyder-Girotti Elementary school which facilitated Denny’s move to a more intensive role with security at the high school.
Those moves, many say, showed immediate dividends during the 2022-23 academic year where there were no student threat incidents or arrests reported. There were as many as three during the 2021-2022 academic year by comparison.
The school district was scheduled to hold its board of directors meeting last Thursday night but was cancelled according to the school district website. No reason for the cancellation was provided.
Attempts to reach School Board President Dave Chichilitti went unreturned as of Sunday.

Jim Dennys used to work at Truman and was fired for being inappropriate many years ago. Jim Denny is should not be around kids at all. He is a serious predator that needs to be investigated extensively. There’s so much more that people don’t know.
