Two Car Accident Leads to One Fatality in Levittown

One man died at Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital Friday morning after he was rear-ended in a late night crash in the Levittown section of Bristol Township.

The crash occurred Thursday night,  at approximately 11:12 p.m., with Bristol Township Police responding  to a report of a two-vehicle accident in the area of Haines Road and Mill Creek Road.

The preliminary investigation shows that a blue 2008 Chevrolet Impala was stopped on northbound Haines Road. A white, 2013 BMW 328I, was traveling north on Haines Road and struck the rear of the Chevrolet, said Lt. Sean Cosgrove.

“The operator of the Chevrolet, a fifty-two-year-old man from Trenton, was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The operator of the BMW was not injured in the crash,” Cosgrove said.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Edgely Fire Department, Levittown #2 Fire Company, Levittown #1 Fire Company, Bucks County Rescue Squad, Levittown Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, and Bristol Township Fire Police.

Anyone who has information about this crash is asked to contact Officer Kenneth Margerum #146 of the Bristol Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit at 267-812-2991. You can also submit anonymous tips here.

No word on whether criminal charges will be filed against the BMW driver.
