Woman Accused of Murdering Husband at Bristol Wharf to Face Trial

The woman who police say shot and killed her husband at the Bristol Wharf in May had her charges held over Wednesday and is heading to trial. 

Sammar Khan 40 charged with criminal homicide in the first degree, murder in the first degree, homicide and related offenses will face a jury of 12 to decide her ultimate fate. 

District Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr ruled today the commonwealth met its burden holding all the charges over for trial. 

One witness testified for the prosecution.  The autopsy findings were entered into the record and Khans Defense Attorney Ellis Palividas, Esq.  stipulated to the identity of the victim a court watcher told this news organization this afternoon. 

On May 30 Khan and her husband were at the Bristol Wharf when she allegedly shot and killed Faisal , according to witnesses at the scene.

Bristol Borough Police were dispatched to the riverside park area just before 11 am

Witnesses told  police they saw Khan yelling in a different language and proceeded to shoot her husband twice shortly thereafter.

The victim got up headed towards the parking lot and told one passersby to call the police. He fell to the ground she approached fired two shots measured and fired a third shot into his head, according to the probable cause. 

Before police arrived on scene Khan, according to court papers called her boyfriend and asked him to come to Bristol to pick up her son.

Police took her into custody noting blood splatter on her clothing which they collected for evidentiary purposes.

A Smith and Wesson 9 millimeter handgun was found at the scene.

Khan told police they were at the park to discuss their relationship and it didn’t go very well, the probable cause alleges.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for August 25 at the Court of Common Pleas.
