Vehicle fires in Bristol Township Saturday evening and Sunday morning were knocked back by firefighters before they could spread further and cause more damage to a home and the environment.
The first vehicle fire took place in the 5600 block of Truman Street dispatched at 6:43 p.m. with firefighters from Newportville, Croydon, and Bristol Borough responding to the scene.

The heat from the fire arising from a vehicle that was sitting adjacent to the home caused some damage to the siding of the residence, however, the rapid response by first responders limited the fire’s spread and damage.

A Third District Fire Company official said the Croydon Fire Company was covering for them as part of a prearranged agreement, as they were holding a fire company fundraiser.
The second vehicle fire occurred early Sunday morning, according to Bristol Township fire officials, in the Silver Lake Nature Center parking lot. Firefighters went in service with the bumper line quickly extinguishing the fire, the fire company said.

No injuries were reported by fire officials on either call.
