Bensalem Police Arrest Levittown Man For Brandishing Gun During Argument at Local Bar

Bensalem Police have arrested a suspect who pulled out a semi-automatic handgun during a verbal confrontation at a local bar last month who has a prior conviction for carrying an unlicensed weapon.

Thomas Emmet Mensah, 34 of Levittown was arraigned Thursday morning Sept 10 by District Judge Joseph P. Falcone on a felony charge of carrying a firearm without a license, and misdemeanors of simple assault, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and related offenses connected to the August 29 incident.

According to the criminal complaint, Bensalem Police were dispatched around 1 a.m. in the morning for a reported armed man at the Final Score Bar and Grill located at 2500 block Knights Road.

According to police, when they arrived at the bar they observed several people outside of the bar on the sidewalk. One witness reported to police that two men had gotten into an verbal argument outside of the bar. One of those men, later identified as Mensah, reportedly pulled a handgun out of his waistband and chambered a round, before getting onto a motorcycle and fleeing the scene.

An0ther witness told police that she was the one who observed the gun Mensah had and told the bartender to call 911. A witness told responding officers she went outside for a quick smoke when she observed Mensah arguing on the sidewalk outside the bar with another man. Mensah reportedly said “try me p***y” to the other individual he was arguing with while pointing the gun at him.

Police, interviewed the  man who had the gun pointed at him by Mensah.

The man said  he was talking with Mensah when things “went sideways”, leading to the suspect pulling the gun, and pointing it at him before fleeing the scene, police said in court records.

Police reviewed check state records and discovered the Levittown man did not have a permit to carry a firearm or concealed weapon. It was also discovered by police that Mensah was on probation for five years stemming from a third degree felony conviction for carrying a firearm without a licenses in Bristol Township back in 2023.

Bristol Township Police would reach out to Bensalem with information about Mensah wareabouts  after the incident at  Bensalem bar. Township police advised  Bensalem authorities that they observed Mensah at a bar in their jurisdiction shortly after the incident.

Bristol Township Police, according to the criminal complaint, reported they had attempted a traffic stop of  Mensah at around 3 a.m. but he fled from them on his black/blue Honda motorcycle and returned to 20 Ivy Lane in Bristol Township.

Mensah was reportedly wearing all black clothing with a green Eagles hat, and white/green/black Nike sneakers.

According to police, a search of Mensah’s known address was conducted on Sep. 2nd, where they recovered the clothes he wore that night, alongside a Smith and Wesson black firearm magazine and firearm rounds.

Mensah, is currently in jail on 10 percent of $250,000.00., pending a preliminary hearing that is scheduled for Oct 21. He is represented by Paul Lang of Parlow & Lang, LLC according to online public records.

In addition Bristol Twp Police filed charges against Mensah, for fleeing and related traffic offenses connected to the August 29 incident.
