Bristol Twp Council Pass Ordinance Change for Hotels and Motels

Credit: Submitted

The Bristol Township Council last week passed an ordinance change for keeping registration books for occupants at local hotel and motels.

The  unanimous vote supporting the change to the township code, said Manager Randee Elton became necessary because of hotels and motels were not doing a good job of maintaining the names of guests and state police were not going to spend their time checking on adherence to the state law.

Elton said the change to the code, will empower the townships police department to conduct checks to ensure guest registration forms are being completed adding the change will also scare off those engaged in potential criminal activity because they don’t want to sign into a official registry.
