Know the song Paul McCartney-Wings song “Band on the Run” ?
On Tuesday morning beginning in the Levittown section of Bristol Township there was a U-Haul Truck on the run.
Joe Lepley Jr posted to Meta a video of Bristol Township Police officers chasing a U-Haul truck on Veterans Highway heading towards the I-95 entrance to Philadelphia.
Lepley wanted to know what the U-Haul did to earn so much attention from the pursuing township police cruisers.
For the answer Lower Bucks Source reached out to Bristol Twp Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Jason Mancuso.
Mancuso, responded quickly saying the U-Haul was fleeing a hit and run crash with no injuries.
From the video clip, the U-Haul races down Veterans Hwy/413 going east with five marked police cruisers, and two unmarked police vehicles in pursuit. Motorists are seen pulling to the left and right to make way for the pursuing police as the truck on the run shrinks from the camera’s view.
“The driver failed to stop and the pursuit was called off for safety reasons,” Mancuso, said.
No word on whether on not the police know the identity of the driver.
Lower Bucks Source will update the story if and when Bristol authorities file hit and run charges against the driver .
