Croydon Man Has Sexual Assault Charges Held Over



A 49-year-old Croydon man accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Black Friday had is charges held over Wednesday in Bristol Borough District Court.
Kevin May of Bristol Township now has a court date in Doylestown accused of raping a woman while she was sleeping, according to court documents. May is scheduled to appear on April 3 for formal arraignment in the Court of Common Pleas.
Police and medics responded to Spring Avenue in Bristol Township’s Croydon section for a report of a sexual assault ,last November with a initial report that a man sexually assaulted a woman and fled the scene, according to the criminal complaint.
As Bristol Township police responded to the incident report they observed a man, later identified as Kevin Joseph May walking on Route 13 in jeans and a T-shirt which drew their attention.
May identified himself to police saying he was coming from a friend’s home on Spring Avenue. May told authorities he was in a fight and that’s why he no jacket. Police noted scratches on his arms in court records. Police transported May to headquarters as officers continued to investigate at Croydon home.
Police interviewed the victim, who said she was awakened to find May sexually assaulting her. She told police she began to scream and strike May because she did not consent to any sexual activity, police said.
The alleged incident happened after a night of drinking beer at the victims home with a few other people, police said.
The victim, according to police, said after a few beers she let May sleep at the home and offered to drive him home in the morning, police said.
The victim told police she and May are not, and have never been, in any type of “romantic” relationship court records say.
May told police that he “made a huge mistake,” according to the criminal complaint, adding he had romantic interest in the woman, whom he had been friends with, and that he sexually assaulted her while she slept.
He was charged with aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault while unconscious or unaware, indecent assault on a person who was unconscious, and indecent assault.
May remains in Bucks County Correctional on 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
