A 50-year-old Croydon man was arrested and charged on Wednesday accused of throwing an object out of the driver side window of his vehicle, smashing the front windshield of a vehicle while driving on Newportville Road earlier this month.
On-call District Judge Christopher E. O’Neill arraigned Michael Francis Pacheco Jr. on charges of propelling a missile into an occupied moving vehicle, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and a related summary offense, on Wednesday night, in what could of led to a far more tragic outcome.
He was released on unsecured bail.
According to Bristol Township Police, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Neshaminy Road on May 9 2026 at 8 pm for a vandalism report.
Officers met with the vehicle owner who said on May 7 at 7 pm, he was in the driveway of his girlfriend’s home at the Neshaminy Rd address, when he saw an unknown dark colored vehicle stopped in front of the house. The complainant said he was unsure who the driver was but believed it could have been Pacheco Jr. since they only met recently and had an altercation over his meeting with Pacheco Jr.’s ex–girlfriend and his current girlfriend’s daughter.
The complainant told police that the driver of the vehicle gestured towards him. He stated that he pulled out of the driveway and turned left onto Walnut Ave to exit the neighborhood. He noticed a dark colored vehicle following him. Continuing he said that once on Newportville Rd he turned around in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot at 801 Bristol Pike to make a U–turn.
After making the U turn, the complainant was headed back north on Newportville Rd towards Neshaminy Rd, when the dark colored vehicle made a right onto Newportville Rd from Charles Ave and was heading south opposite him. It was at this time that he saw the driver of the dark colored vehicle throw some type of metal object out of their car, which then hit and shattered the windshield of his vehicle and the dark colored vehicle continue down Newportville Rd.
The cost of repairing the windshield damage is estimated to be in excess of $150 dollars.
The complainant, according to court records, spoke with his girlfriend about the incident and was shown a photo of the suspect (Pacheco Jr.) which is how he identified as the driver of the dark colored vehicle.
Pacheco Jr. is due back in court on May 27 and as of publication time has no attorney of record, according to online court records.
