It has been probably the most popular fire prevention event in the Lower Bucks County area and it won’t be held this year, Edgely Fire Company officials announced last week.
After nearly 30 years of welcoming our community to our annual fire prevention night, Edgely Fire Company will not be holding its large-scale event this year, fire officials said.
“This was not an easy decision,”fire officials said
Fire company officials cited the need to dedicate training time with the new arrivals of Ladder 10 and Engine 10.
Our firefighters need to dedicate additional time to training and becoming fully proficient with the new, state-of-the-art equipment that will serve our community for years to come, the fire company said.
“We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped make fire prevention night such a success over the years — especially the Oser family, Brookwood Elementary School, our officers and members, and the families and children of Edgely Fire Company who have given their time, energy and enthusiasm year after year.”

On Thursday, October 8, from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. the firehouse will be open to the public during fire prevention week.
In a related fire company matter, Edgely and Levittown Fire Company #2 said they have launched a coordinated in station staffing effort.
The joint announcement says a staffed fire truck and crew will be ready to respond from one of the two firehouses every Monday through Thursday evening, providing additional protection to the residents, businesses, and visitors of the township.
The companies have a long enduring relationship going back five decades. The coordinated effort will enhance existing relationships between the fire companies and present new opportunities for cross training, fire officials said.
The reasoning behind the effort, is with increasing population numbers and vehicle traffic getting to the firehouse quickly is becoming more challenging. The coordinated staffing effort will save valuable time that can improve emergency response times, the fire companies said.
