Third District firefighters were dispatched to put out a fire started under unusual circumstances Wednesday evening  on Rt. 13 just beyond Burger King adjacent to the northbound lane.

Fire Chief Howard McGoldrick said fire crews arrived on scene to find men’s clothing in a smoldering fire, which was done by a displaced man to another  as part of an argument the two men were having that also required police response.

Okinawa Windows, who owns the property, McGoldrick said, called the police seeking removal of the unidentified men.

One of the two displaced men, had all kinds of butane, propane, and aerosol cans, which made it sound like WWIII had broken out above the usual traffic related noise along the busy roadway, McGoldrick said,

Bristol Township Police officers warned the men and anyone else lingering to stay off of the property as it is privately owned and trespassers are not welcomed at anytime.

McGoldrick said the fire in of itself was rather stunning in its size and scope when fire crews arrived on scene.

He said the fire was “placed” without incident and within minutes. There were no injuries to report.

The Bristol Twp Fire Station also was on scene, officials said.
