Ron Roberts Emergency Services Reporter

A dwelling fire wrecked a home in the Goldenridge section of Levittown Saturday afternoon and a dog was rescued from the flames by a firefighter.

The fire erupted just after 1:35 p.m., in the 100 block of Goldenridge Drive.

The flames started in a mulch bed outside the home, said Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito.

Plumes of smoke could be seen from Rt 13 and Haines Rd with motorists pointing to the rising smoke as firefighters battled the blaze.

One dog was rescued by firefighters, Dippolito said, with one firefighter suffering a shoulder injury. He was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital for treatment, said Dippolito.

The home was heavily damaged by the blaze, the fire marshal said.
