A Trenton New Jersey woman awaits her fate after pleading guilty to six counts of robbery and related charges for the vicious and brutal beating she dished out to two Gabe’s retail outlet employees in Bristol Township last April.
Kaimira M. Higgenbotham, 34, agreed to plead guilty recently and is scheduled to be sentenced by President Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. on June 26.
The brutal attack took place at Fairless Hills’ Gabe’s store in April 2024.
Store employees, saw Higgenbotham, placing items in a laundry hamper, according to the criminal complaint, then headed for a store exit where she was confronted by one senior aged female employee and shortly thereafter a second senior aged employee followed behind as a struggle ensued over the shopping cart filled with items including the laundry hamper that was also filled with merchandise from the store.
Here let me help you. I’ll bring you up to the register to ring you out, the 71-year-old employee said. The victim grabbed the hamper momentarily, and Higgenbotham then pulled the shopping cart back. In doing so, victim 1 fell to the ground knocking merchandise down with her, while still holding onto the hamper. Meanwhile, a second store employee — victim number 2 — saw the struggle between the two and headed towards a full fledged brawl in motion with the suspect punching victim 1 in the head with a cell in her hand, while victim number 2 is now also fully involved in the fight and knocked to the ground. Higgenbotham continues to struggle with victim 1 as seen on video, dragging her across the floor, hitting her in the head and stomping on her chest several times, as she’s on the ground prone. Victim 2 was then struck in the head by the suspect with a cell phone in her hand about 10 times. She fell back to the ground dazed by the attack and held her head, according to the probable cause affidavit.
With an assist from the Trenton Police, Higgenbotham was identified, subsequently arrested on July 31 last year and sent to Bucks County Correctional where she has remained.
Victim one sustained “serious injuries” and was transported to a local medical facility. She was admitted and received treatment for her injuries while also having bypass surgery performed on her due to the chest trauma suffered in the attack. She told police she is experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), the criminal complaint says.
Victim two suffered a concussion. She told police she has a brain aneurysm with a stent inserted directly behind her left ear. This is where Higgenbotham struck her numerous times. She is currently under multiple doctors’ care, police said.
