A 26-year-old man is behind bars at Bucks County Prison accused of pulling a steak knife and demanding money from a Wawa customer at a gas pump in Levittown earlier this month.
Bristol Township Police were dispatched, on March 10 at approximately 2 p.m., to Wawa, located at 3260 Bath Road, Bristol, for the report of an armed subject. The victim called 911 reporting a man pulled a steak knife on him while he was pumping gas.
Upon arrival, police made contact with the victim in the parking lot, court records show.
The victim said the suspect walked up to him, demanding money. After the victim told him no, the suspect displayed a steak knife and again demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspect fled the area on foot.
While police were gathering the victim’s statement, they saw the suspect walking through the parking lot towards the front entrance of Wawa. At this time, the victim positively identified the knife-wielding man, police later discovered to be Preston Davis, undomiciled. He was taken into police custody and a Rogers stainless steel steak knife was recovered from his back pants pocket, according to the probable cause affidavit.
District Judge Kevin P. Wagner arraigned Davis on robbery counts and two related offenses and setting bail at 10 percent of $50,000.00 with a court date set for April 2. Davis, according to online court records, has no attorney of record presently.
