First Responders Rescue 9 from Disabled Boat on Delaware River in Bristol

Nine people on a boat with no power were rescued Sunday evening by Bristol area first responders.

Fire officials said at 6:05 p.m.  on Sept 15, Bristol Borough station 25, 50 and 51 and Bristol Township station 11 were dispatched to the Delaware River in the area of 500 block of Radcliffe Street  for people yelling for help from a boat,  Initial check of that area was negative. Further contact with the stranded boaters revealed that the call was being made from Riverview Drive in Harriman.

Units responded to that location and found a disabled boat with 9 passengers on board.  Marine 11 was able to tow the boat to the Anchor Yacht Club. All passengers were safely removed,  There were no injuries and by the top of the hour, everyone was back on dry land, fire officials said.

No word on why the boat lost power.
