The 18-year-old Tullytown man struck by a SUV while riding his dirt bike on Levittown Parkway Saturday afternoon died Sunday morning, his family said.
Samuel O’Brien Jr. passed away at 10 this morning, his older sister Saundra Meyer said, with family by his side.
The two motorized vehicle crash occurred around 4:30 p.m Saturday on Levittown Parkway, Chief of Police Nate Aldsworth said.
The investigation into the fatal accident is active and ongoing, Aldsworth said, adding the department will not be releasing any additional information on the investigation at this time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Samuel’s family and friends, the chief said.
An evening vigil to celebrate O’Brien’s life is going to be held at the crash site beginning at 5 p.m., his family said.

An 18-year-old man is on a ventilator at an area hospital Saturday night after he was struck while on his dirtbike in the area of RT 13 and Levittown Parkway.
The young man’s sister updated the community in an effort to make sure facts surrounding the dirt bike vs. motor vehicle crash that occurred around 4:30 Saturday afternoon in which he sustained serious injuries were clear.
“Before misinformation goes around, that was my little brother that got hit. He is 18 years old. He suffered a severe brain injury, CPR was given at the scene, he is currently on a ventilator. No further information. Please do not comment with any type of ill will or non factual information. Please give us time to process this situation,” the victim’s sister, Saundra Meyer, said.
Tips on the accident started coming into LBS at 4:46 p.m.
Tipsters said a maroon SUV with a “smashed” front end driven by an “older man” was in close proximity to the crash site.
A commenter who drove by the accident site said the striking vehicle was a blue Honda Civic. That information has yet to be confirmed by investigators.
