A  36 year-old homeless woman saved from a overdose death at Queen Anne Park in Fairless Hills returned the favor and her thanks by spitting on a Bucks County Ranger and a Bristol Township Police officer authorities say.

On August 12th, 2025 at approximately 8:24 p.m., a Bucks County Ranger along with the Levittown Fairless Hills Rescue Squad were dispatched to the Veteran’s Memorial, a part of Queen Anne Park, for “Tara” overdosing and foaming from the mouth, police said.

Five minutes before arrival, Bristol Township Police arrived on scene to assist on the overdose call. Upon the ranger’s arrival, township police turned over to him bags of heroin and property found in Rohde Peterson’s pockets. Police then reported that Rohde Peterson spit on an officer, according to the probable cause.

After the overdose call was concluded and Rohde Peterson was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital for further evaluation, the ranger spoke with a Levittown Fairless Hills Rescue Squad Emergency Medical Personnel member who reported that Rohde Peterson spit at the Bristol Township officer and he blocked most of it as it landed on him, officers wrote in court papers.

The ranger spoke with the police officer who said that when they arrived on scene, the responding officer assisted in loading Rhode Peterson on to the stretcher, Rhode Peterson leaned up from the stretcher and tried to spit directly in the officer’s face. The spit mostly hit the EMS member instead.

Rhode Peterson was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and she was remanded to Bucks County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $60,000 bail and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing to answer to the charges on August 26.
