A Langhorne man has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and a related offense for attacking a security guard at inpatient behavioral health facility earlier this month.
Amen Zion Sheldon Brown was arraigned earlier this week for his assault of the guard on the inpatient unit at Lower Bucks Hospital (LBH) and sent to Bucks County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of $35,000.00.
According to the probable cause, Bristol Twp Police were dispatched to the mental health inpatient unit on June 12 to meet with the victim. The victim’s forehead was, police said, bandaged and awaiting stiches.
The victim related to the police, that Brown was being abusive and fighting with staff the entire day. Staff members said Brown was brought in on a mental health warrant earlier in the month and since then has been fighting with staff and security guards, according to the probable cause.
The victim along with three other security guards attempted to secure Brown in a room. Brown resisted and started fighting with the victim and other guards before he was pushed into the room. Upon entering the room, Brown started to throw punches. The victim attempted to approach Brown and was punched in the head. The remaining guards were then able to secure Brown. The victim received seven stiches. His other injuries included a swollen eye and blurred vision from the incident. said police.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 9, 2024.
