A Levittown man is behind bars at Bucks County Jail accused of chasing down three boys on dirt bikes and striking one when they bailed from their bikes on Haines Road in Levittown Wednesday.

District Judge Terrence Hughes arraigned Michael Samuel Morin, 39 of Levittown Thursday on three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, five counts of simple assault, and related traffic offenses.

Morin posted the 10 percent of $100,000.00 bond required to be released.

According to Bristol Township Police, on Wednesday January 7, 2025 at 6:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Haines Road and Farmbrook Drive for the report of a traffic accident involving a struck minor. Bucks County Radio also advised Morin called police about stopping subjects in the same area who he believed were responsible for his broken truck windows.

On arrival, the responding officer met Morin in his 2004 Ford F150 parked in the grass area where the sidewalk is located off the roadway. Morin said that he never struck anyone and was attempting to speak with the minors about his truck being vandalized, police said in court papers.

According to the criminal complaint officers spoke with the first minor victim who told police he was riding his bicycle northbound on Haines Road. Morin drove towards him and his friends. The first victim observed the truck going over the curb and onto the grass to hit them. He turned around to go elsewhere, crossing Haines Road to escape. The child noticed that the truck was coming in his direction and ditched the bicycle as he got to the other side. The truck drove over the curb again and struck the victim who fell to the ground injuring his left knee.

Police spoke with another victim who said he was riding his bicycle on the northbound side of Haines Road. The second victim noticed a truck was coming his way. He got off the roadway and onto the grass area but the truck drove over the curb and tried to hit him. The truck missed him and he rode his bicycle away and hid in a bush somewhere in the Dogwood section of Bristol Twp.

The responding officer spoke with the third victim who was also riding a bicycle on the northbound side of Haines Road. The third victim observed the truck going over the curb trying to hit the second victim. The truck came in his direction on Haines Road after trying to hit the second victim. Leaving the truck’s path, the third victim joined the second victim in the Dogwood section of Bristol Township, police said.

All of the minors told police that Morin tried to run them over with his 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

At the scene, police noted in court records that they saw fresh tread marks on Haines Road near Dogwood Drive. In addition, they saw fresh tire marks from Morin’s truck in the grass area by the sidewalk.

The caller of this incident did not witness the event but told police she heard the screeching of tires from the truck. She also heard a male scream: I just hit a kid.

Morin is currently scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Jan 20 at 9 am in Levittown. He has no attorney of record presently, according to court records.

The condition of the child struck is unknown as of press time.
