A 34-year-old Levittown man with a protection from abuse order filed against him and being held at county jail on $1 million bond on strangulation and assault charges is heading to trial after a district court judge sustained charges filed by authorities.

District Judge Terrence Hughes held over charges of strangulation, simple assault, and related offenses against Andrew Domagala for trial.

According to police, on June 20 2026 officers were dispatched to police headquarters for a assault report that occurred on Thursday June 16 in the 20 block of South Lane in Levittown.

Police spoke to the complainant who related that on June 16, at around 1 p.m., her ex-boyfriend, Domagala, whom the victim has an active Protection From Abuse order against, got into an altercation where he proceeded to throw several unspecified items at her.

She alleges Domagala had thrown her on the bed, where he then proceeded to claw at her neck, and strangled her with both hands for six to seven seconds restricting her ability to breathe.

She said it was difficult to swallow for several days.

The victim said Domagala bit her left eye and ankle, police wrote in court documents.

Police noted in the probable cause bruising on the victim’s left eye, which appears at the right stage of healing as the date of the offense; scratches on the victim’s neck, which also appear at the right stage of healing as the date of the offense; and a healing once open wound on the victim’s left ankle.

Domagala, represented by the Bucks County Public Defenders’ Office, is due back in court for formal arraignment on September 11. He also has an open, and unrelated case in the Court of Common Pleas that is scheduled for a pre-trial guilty plea conference on August 17. Those charges, according to court records, are for DUI and traffic-related offenses.
