Local Woman Arrested for Impersonating a Police Officer, Trespassing New Falls Rd Wawa

Bristol Twp Police File Image Credit Jeff Bohen LBS

All a local woman had to do was follow the officer’s request , she refused and now she’s in Bucks County Prison on charges of impersonating a police officer, theft, resisting arrest, and trespassing.

Bristol Township Police responded to a call at the Wawa on New Falls Road in Fairless Hills at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 31 for a report of a female wandering on the property with what looked like a badge around her neck buts she  left before police arrived, court records show.

Approximately an hour later, the woman allegedly came back to the Wawa and the manager called Bucks County Radio for police assistance.  The manager wanted the police to talk to Buckley, so the manager could issue a ‘No Trespass Notice’ to the suspect, according to the affidavit.

Upon arrival the second time, the officer observed another officer speaking to the woman, identified as Shannon Buckley, 44, of no known address. Buckley was sitting in front of the Wawa using the store’s outside outlet. When informed that using the outlet was considered theft, she disagreed.  Buckley was also asked to leave the property as she was ordered before to do or face an arrest for trespassing, but, she refused and remained seated. The officer then asked about the patch that read ‘Bucks County Sheriff’s Office’ on a necklace she wore.  She replied she was “undercover”.  She was informed that it was a misdemeanor charge, but if she turned in the badge, she would not be charged.  She then stood, took off the necklace, and shoved it down her pants, asking “There, How about that?” At this point, she was advised, she was under arrest for defiant trespassing and impersonating a police officer, police said.

Buckley resisted arrest when officers tried to handcuff her. She began pulling her arms away from the police and shouting to nearby people to help her. She yelled that male officers were unable to arrest a female and continued to pull away from the officers. She was eventually taken into custody by police.

Buckley is also known as Shannon Marchan and also as Shannon Diaz-Bend,  police said .

She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage who set bail at 10% of $10,000. Unable to post bail, Buckley was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF) and her preliminary hearing is currently set for Sept. 17, according to court papers.
