Middletown Hires 2 New Police Officers

Middletown Township has two new police officers as Alexa Moors and Matthew Balint were sworn in at last weeks Board or Supervisors meeting

The two took their oaths while wearing masks during the combination meeting where there were attendees in person and observing the proceedings online through the Zoom platform. 

The two new cops are replacing two officers that retired  a year ago Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla said. He and other township officials also plan to hire a replacement for a third officer who retired at the last year, the chief said.

Balint,  is a graduate of Spring-Ford High School in Montgomery County, has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice from Cabrini University. A volunteer firefighter with the Black Rock Volunteer Fire Co., he worked in the private security industry prior to to being hired by the municipality.

Moors, the daughter of veteran Bristol Borough Police Sgt Joe Moors is a Pennsbury High School graduate who attended Bucks County Community College and then East Stroudsburg University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education.

She also starred in High School and College athletics. 

I’m really proud of all Alexa is accomplishing and has accomplished, said  proud father, Joe. 

“She is going to work in a great township for an excellent police department and I’m truly grateful for that.” 

Both of the newly hired officers graduated from the Temple University Police Academy in March.
